Footnote

"Carr was the prelate who attended George IV during his last illness. He devoted himself almost entirely to his episcopal duties, and . . . took little interest in politics. He was one of the bishops who voted against the Roman Catholic Relief Bill. . . . Although strict in the enforcement of religious observances, he had a decided leaning towards the evangelical school of thought." -- DNB 3: 1085-86
