Family
Folliott Cornewall was the second son of Captain Frederick Cornewall, R.N., and Mary Herbert. He married Anne, daughter of the Rev. George Hamilton, canon of Windsor. They had two sons and a daughter.
Education
He graduated B.A. from St. John's, Cambridge, in 1777, and in 1780 took his M.A.
Church Appointments and Service
He was ordained in 1777, and in 1780 obtained the post of chaplain to the House of Commons. In 1784 he was made canon at Windsor. Six years later he was appointed master of Wigston's Hospital in Leicester. In 1793 he was raised to the deanery of Canterbury. In 1797 he was preferred to the See of Bristol, from which, in 1803, he transferred to Hereford, and from there, in 1808, he transferred to Worcester.
Noteworthy Publications
He published A Sermon Preached before the House of Commons on 30 January 1782 and A Fast Sermon Preached before the House of Lords in 1798.
